Primary school

The school follows the Swedish curriculum and has Swedish-speaking teachers who work to create a safe and stimulating learning environment. On site in the school's premises we teach from preschool class up to Year 6, and for lower and upper secondary we offer supervision through Sofia Distans and Hermods.

Pupils' learning at the centre

The school focuses on developing pupils' academic, social and personal skills through various subjects and activities. Pupils receive a high-quality Swedish education that gives them a stable foundation for their continued education.

Continuity in education

The school follows the Swedish curriculum and uses Swedish as the language of instruction, giving pupils a unique opportunity to continue their Swedish education even while living in Spain. This makes the transition easier when they return to Sweden or continue their education at other international schools.

Swedish traditions and culture

The school uses Swedish holidays, songs and traditions to introduce pupils to Swedish culture and history. This gives pupils the opportunity to learn about their heritage and feel part of Swedish traditions even while living in Spain.

The school also has a strong sense of community and gives pupils the chance to get to know other Swedish children and families living in Spain.

A school day with us

The day starts with a class gathering and continues with lessons in the curriculum subjects, broken up by outdoor breaks and lunch together at school. Afternoons are often used for practical and creative subjects, PE and work in smaller groups. After the school day there is after-school care for anyone who wants to stay longer.

Classes are small, so teachers have time to see every pupil and can adapt tasks to where the pupil is. Digital tools are used to complement books and writing, not to replace them.

Subjects and assessment

Teaching follows the syllabuses of the Swedish national curriculum. Spanish is on the timetable every week and English is taught in line with the curriculum. Progress is followed up continuously and reported home through development meetings and written assessments, so you know where your child stands ahead of any return to school in Sweden.

Support and wellbeing

The class teacher is the family's first point of contact day to day. When needed, the school's student health team is involved for assessment and adaptations. Read more about what we can and cannot offer on the page about extra support.

Joining us

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and starting mid-term is fine. Term dates are listed under school year dates, fees per year group on the fees page, and the form itself under application. We are happy to arrange a visit if you would like to see the school.
